Eve Ensler's "The Vagina Monologues" is one source of
inspiration for V-day, an international gathering protesting violence
against women. As of 2003, the monologues were entering their 4th year.
Ensler often offers solo performances, but Glenn Close, Winona Ryder, Jane Fonda, and Meryl
Streep are among others who have participated in the monologues.
