How
Do I Find Information About Problems I'm Interested in?
People have an astonishing variety of so-called
"mental" problems, just as they have an astonishing
variety of physical problems. You can choose the kind of problem
that you would like to learn about in either of two ways. First, if
you know or would recognize the name of a disorder that you'd like
to read about, you can go directly to an index that is a gateway to
sub-indexes by clicking here, or you
can go to our internal search tool and
type in the name of the disorder. If you don't know the names
of disorders, but are interested in reading about people with
symptoms or problems that you have seen or know about, you can get
to possible diagnoses by first selecting from a list of types of
symptoms. These types of symptoms are general signposts that will
lead you to a broad area; from there, you can search the sub-areas
within that broad area until you find exactly the kind of problem
you're looking for. You will also find out about treatments and how
to access web sites or get books for detailed information, or how
people can get help if they want it.
list of types of symptoms.
