Acute Stress Disorder

The diagnostic criteria for acute stress disorder are nearly identical to those for posttraumatic stress disorder. The difference is that acute stress disorder must occur within 4 weeks of the traumatic event (the onset of PTSD may be delayed), and the disturbance must last for no fewer than 2 or more than 28 days.
