Disorders
The eating disorders in this section are those
with onsets later than those described in connection with the
disorders of infancy, childhood, and adolescence. However, the usual
time of onset for Anorexia Nervosa is adolescence, and the ratio of
females to males with the disorder is about 10 to 1. The sex ratio
is about the same for Bulimia Nervosa. Eating Disorder Not Otherwise
Specified has many of the same symptoms as the other two, but is
missing some symptom required for the more specific diagnosis. The
differences in criteria are discussed in the sections on the
individual disorders. Select the one you wish to read about.
